Cynthia J. Contino (nee Toppi), on August 29, 2021, of Washington Twp. Age 73. Beloved wife of John A. Devoted mother of Stephanie Faust (George), Cara Wolfer (Keith), Denise Contino and John C. Contino. Loving grandmother of Marlaina (Kyle), Claudia, Gianna and Rosie. Dear sister of David Toppi (Roxanne), Linda DeLuca (Jack), Joseph Toppi (Marie), Robert Toppi (Betty Jean) and Ettore Toppi. Cherished sister-in-law of Louis and Christina Contino, Rosemarie Contino and the late Blase Contino. She is survived by her precious Aunts Jennie, Frances, Betty and Madge and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cynthia was devoted to her church and her family. She was a founding member of SS Peter & Paul RC Church, an active member of various prayer groups, and a Teacher of Catholic education for many years. She enthusiastically prayed the rosary each day and was proud to have raised a devout faithful family. Cynthia cherished being with family and especially relished traditions and holiday gatherings. She was a fabulous cook and set the most beautiful holiday table. Cynthia was committed to continuous learning. She earned her Masters’ Degree in Pastoral Theology and her latest endeavor was studying the Hebrew language with her brother. Cynthia also found time to pursue her hobbies, which were sewing and going to the Ocean City beach.

Family and friends are invited to her viewing Tuesday September 7^th, 7:00– 9:00 pm and Wednesday September 8^th, 10:30 -11:30 am at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Turnersville. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 am. Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield, NJ.

Dear John and Family, Please accept our sincere apology for not acknowledging the passing of your dear wife and your children’s mother for this length of time. For one reason or another we were not aware of her passing which is extremely regrettable. Even though it has been a long time since I moved away from the area I would think of Cindy and John now and then and today I decided to try to reconnect and visit when I come North this summer. How saddened I was to see this obit pop up when I googled her name. This is a beautiful obituary and it describes Cindy exactly how We remember her. John, Stephanie, Cara, Denise, John and your beloved families, Our hearts are with you at this sorrowful time. I always looked up to and admired my dear cousin, Cindy. When she lived with Grandmom and worked in Philly and was dating John, I thought she was so sophisticated! Among her many talents and gifts (learning, creating, teaching, cooking and so much more), I admired most her gift of hospitality. She welcomed all into her home and heart, and when you were with her she made you feel like the most important part of God's creation. Her life was a gift to her family and the world.

We are soo sorry & saddened to have heard about Cindys passing…our hearts go out to you John, and all of your Family. We have so many great & happy memories of Cindy. She had the biggest heart & always the most beautiful smile at any time. Although we didn’t see her much we could always count on her prayers about anything you ask her to pray for. Her faith was amazing, and I remember when we all lived across the street from each other I would go have coffee with her and at the mention of the name of Jesus she lit up like a Christmas tree. She will be soo missed by all who knew her, but she’s n the most beautiful place now with Her Lord.
