Cynthia Hinton Bowman, 70, of Sewell, NJ, passed away on February 27, 2025.

Born and raised in Glassboro, NJ, Cynthia was a devoted mother, professional, and friend to those in her life. She earned her law degree from Rutgers Law School in 1979 and built a fulfilling career at State Farm Insurance, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 2018.

Cynthia was a woman of strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. She cherished the time spent with her daughter, Devon Bowman, and her grandsons, Matthew and Quentin, of Erial, NJ. She also shared a special bond with her stepson, Atiim Bowman of Philadelphia, PA, and her brother, Guy Hinton, and his husband, Martin Risteen, of Provincetown, MA. She is survived by many close extended family members and friends.

She will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, and dedication to those she loved. Cynthia’s legacy of compassion and perseverance will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral services. She deeply valued the cherished moments spent with her family and friends and wanted to be remembered for the love and laughter that surrounded those times. Eternally grateful for the chance you gave me. I will cherish 32 yrs of memories.

Guy, All of the incredible memories flooded my mind when I heard of Cindy’s passing. The socially aware teenagers that used to discuss issues of the day. Reading books beyond our years to impress the college dudes with our conversation. Some may say we were just flirting. 🙂 Cindy getting her first car and none of us wanted to ride with her because she couldn’t drive! 😂 We didn’t know it then but our friendships made our lives rich. You have my most sincere condolences and I pray for continued comfort for you, Devon and her grandchildren. 💕🙏🏽

My condolences to your family. I went to school with Cyndi from Kindergarten all the way through the 12th grade. She was very kind and an extremely intelligent person.

My condolences to Cindy’s family and friends. The obituary captures her love and life and those who had the good fortune to work with her, understand the many gifts she gave to us. Her friendship, loyalty, compassion, intelligence and heart will never be forgotten. Some of my fondest memories were at a difficult time. Offices were closing with both our jobs and our employees in possible jeopardy. Our many conversations/meetings never discussed our potential misfortune, only those within our supervision.
