I cannot begin to express the shock and sorrow I felt when I read of Chuck's passing. I'll was a classmate of his, WTHS class of 74, and will never forget his smile and kindness. I'm honored to have called him my friend. May God look down on and comfort his family in these hard times. God bless you all. Gregg Gaston, Laredo, TX

Many conversations were had between me and the man I referred to as Uncle Chuck. Although I had Uncles by blood he was pretty much the only one I ever thought of when I said Uncle. He would let me know when he was proud of the man I was becoming and would always let me know when I was messing up by giving me that look while shaking his head. Lol... I hated that whenever he messed with me I could never tell if he was serious or not. One day with his nephews Nick and Keynen we were at his house and I said to them today I get Uncle Chuck. I made up this guy in college named Andre Jackson and had Uncle Chuck believing all sorts of things about him. Uncle Chuck was so into the story we couldn't hold it in any longer and Keynen said Uncle Chuck, Brian is trying to clown you. Uncle Chuck told me leave!!! I laughed and he said i'm not! I was scared and sad all at the same time. I said, cmon guys, and Uncle Chuck said, I told you to leave, not them. As I left I was in tears because I was really walking home which was by any account, a long hike. Lol... after awhile Keynen picked me up and we went back. Uncle Chuck laughed and had no idea I was walking back. Till this day I don't know if he was serious or not. Lol... Uncle Chuck, you always accepted me, treated me like family, and made me feel welcome. I always enjoyed our serious conversations and appreciated how you always expected me to be better then what I was! I'll see you again Uncle Chuck ;)

Charlie and I were very good friends throughout grade school and in to high school. Chuck called me "Sherm" and we always had a good laugh about it. I was so sad to hear of his passing. 61 is way too young for a fellow classmate. The Washington Twp. Class of '74 is a unique group of people. Even when we aren't around each other, there's a sense that we all still care and think about one another with admiration, fondness, and love. We all lost a brother in Chuck. God bless his family, relatives, and close friends.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
