Charles B. Williams, Jr.
On November 12, 2019 of Vineland. Age 95. Beloved husband of the late Jean (nee D’Olio). Devoted father of Charlene Williams (the late Arnold S.) and Arlene Padden (Harry). Loving grandfather of Harry, IV.
Loved by nieces and nephews.
Charles, Yie to his siblings, was quite a character who enjoyed spending time with his brothers and older sister. As a young boy he engaged in silly antics such as releasing a snake on a counter in an ice cream shop. He taught himself basic magic and became skilled at sleight-of-hand tricks. He loved attention and as a young adult, he dabbled in professional singing, where it was reported that he met his beloved wife of over 60 years, Jean.
Yie proudly served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He was stationed in Panama where he and his brother, Billy, trained guard dogs and ran the movie theater on base. Following his discharge from the military in 1945, Yie married and began his 50-year career as an electrician (IBEW 654). He was the father of two daughters, whom he loved dearly. In his later years, Yie earned his real estate license and sold properties in Ocean City, NJ.
Yie led a full and happy life. He traveled the country with his wife and daughters in their motor home. He proudly sent both of his girls to college and he walked each of them down the aisle. He bounced his grandson on his knee and he loved his family deeply. And now, at the ripe old age of 95, he is once again with his brothers and sister. He led a charmed life and we were blessed that he was in ours.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Saturday November 23rd 9:00-10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd. Washington Twp. Funeral service 10:30 am. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
