His motto was to laugh every day and be well.
Carl was born and raised in South Philadelphia and he died at his home in Virginia at the age of 96. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, uncle and cousin. He had many titles and he was so loved by all including our friends.
He had a wit beyond compare to anyone. He loved to laugh and smile, which he did everyday. His wish was to have a block party on the his 100th birthday, but fell short by 4 years. He loved fishing, crabbing, and being in a boat. He loved the Philly sports teams. I would have to say he just loved life. A life well lived is worth remembering. Also, he loved the mummers, and he strutted with them on New Year’s Day playing the saxophone. He worked hard and had hands of gold and loved building and fixing things. Always ready to help. Time spent with his family was enjoyed by him as it was always filled with laughter, food, and just sitting around the table for hours.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 17th at SS. Peter and Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. followed by a Christian Mass at 11:00 am.
