Bonnie R. “Skip” DeLoach
On February 7, 2018 of Washington Township, NJ. Age 86. Beloved husband of Mary Nelle (nee Tolbert). Devoted father of Glenn DeLoach (Janet). Loving grandfather of Jeffrey DeLoach (Lisa) and Dana Rohach (Andrew). Proud great-grandfather of Benjamin DeLoach. Dear brother of William DeLoach and Martha Whithed.
Born and raised in Georgia, Mr. DeLoach joined the Navy right out of high school, serving his country from 1949 to 1952 as a sonar operator aboard a destroyer during the Korean War. Thereafter, he worked as a delivery truck driver for Nabisco, was promoted to manager and transferred to South Florida. In 1968, he attended night school to become a computer programmer, graduating first in his class. He was then transferred to one of Nabisco’s corporate offices in Wilkes-Barre, PA where he worked from 1969 until his retirement in 1986. After retiring, he and his wife, Mary, travelled across the country sightseeing for several months.
Mr. DeLoach had several hobbies. He loved fishing, playing cards, tennis and racquetball and going to the gym. In recent years, he enjoyed going to the senior center, where he loved shooting pool with his friends.
Most of all through the years, he loved attending his grandkids’ sporting events, always there cheering them on from his lawnchair!
