Happy 15th Birthday my beautiful Austin, how very much you are missed on this day and every day. Normally on this day, I would be planning to see you for your special family celebration dinner. This birthday will be no different, because the family, your friends and team mates will be going to visit with you and we will send balloons up to you sweetheart. Later we are all going to your favorite restaurant Terra Nova for your favorite Sushi and dinner. You are so deeply missed and loved by us all my darlin and we want you to know this. My personal life will never be the same with you gone from it sweetheart, because your love, hugs, humor, smiles and adorable face is not there to give that beautiful light that only you gave my life... you were so beautifully unique. So my sweetheart, I send you my eternal love. Happy Birthday Austin until 'we meet again'. With my love always, Your Mom-mom xoxo

I remember the day he was born, like it was yesterday. Someone was getting Chase off the bus for you because I had an appointment, they never got Chase, he fell asleep and the bus took him back to the transportation office for the school and I had to contact Rich while you were delivering Austin. Never forget that day he came into the world. I also remember the Winnie the Pooh blanket that was Brendan's that I gave you to use and he loved it so it became his, along with lil Mike's Buzz Lightyear jacket. Those are the memories that stand out in my mind from the "old days" when all the boys were little.

Wanda Stein left a message on November 10, 2015:
November 9th, 2015 Dear Family of Austin Edward, Words are so imperfect to describe our feelings for you in your deep grief. We struggle to make sense of any loss but especially when it is one of our precious children. Austin’s untimely passing is a tragic shock to all who love him and know him. Our hearts hurt for you when we heard the sad news. It will be difficult to think of your beloved Austin as being “gone” when you carry so many fond memories of him. We are told that "Love gives more than death can take" but losing someone who’s loved very much as a precious child, it is the hardest thing we have to face. Austin, by being your child, lived his life in a way time can never erase. So, we pray you dwell on the love and warm thoughts of all you shared with Austin and may it bring you comfort and peace for the days ahead. It’s the hearing of their voice, seeing their smiling faces, pleasures of being in a family and the sharing of life’s events that death steals from us. The question of “Why” can be so unrelenting. We know your pain in very deep and beyond description. All your hopes and dreams for Austin were shattered in one moment of time. As a parent, we wish there were a “life backspace” to erase the accident that stole our future with our children. Austin’s life will be forever etched in your memories and heart. All your friends, family and co-workers are filled with sympathy, shock, and affection for you at this most tragic time. We know you do not know us but we want you to know we care very much and we offer ourselves to be there to help with your grief. We know you have a support system and we would not want to intrude. It helps to remind yourself God did not take Austin from life, God received Austin into life everlasting. We lost our only son to a tragic car incident while he was the crossing the highway also. It helped to keep our thoughts focused on truth throughout our grief journey. We know it will seem you are in a battle as you deal with the emotional roller coaster of grief. Please know you do not need to go it alone, take all your hurts to God and He will comfort you. What does one do after the horrible accident that took our loved-one from us? We decided we would live our lives to honor our child’s memory. We looked to Our Lord to sustain us in our grief and He has every moment. Our children would want us do this. We send our prayers and sincere condolences to you as you honor Austin’s life in all you do. May you always sense Austin’s love around you. We know you will miss Austin from this day forward and you will find him in your heart of memories. We all need to “heal” the heart when it is broken and we need to cast our burdens on the Lord because He does care for all of us. …Psalms 55:22. With our deepest sympathy, George & Wanda Stein

Our prayers are with you as you and your loved ones send your son home to be with the Lord. I know in his youth you looked forward to more time to share in his life but please take comfort that he is with God and his race is won and is waiting on the other side to greet all those that follow in God's time

Rob Neuber left a message on November 8, 2015:
A poem close to my heart that I hope your family will find comfort in. Austin I will never forget you and your spirit to work to get better. You have left your imprint on me and for that I am a better person for it. May you rest in peace. #13 Forever Coach Neuber Am Always With You When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, You mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you've given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".

Austin there are no words to express how much you will be missed. Thank you for being such a sweet, funny kid & a great teammate for all of your much too short life. You will truly be an angel watching over your friends from above. To Kim & Rich and boys we have nothing but love & prayers. If there were a way to take away the pain it would have already been done. You will always be part of our football family & friends forever. Much love, Dave, Debbie, Matt & Ryan DiJohn
