(nee Murphy) On June 16, 2021 of Washington Twp. Age 85. Beloved wife of Richard. Devoted mother of Louis Sabato (Kimberly) and Kathleen Hodge (the late John). Loving grandmother of Ryan, Danielle (Antonio), and Derek (Julianne). Proud great-grandmother of Mia Luna. Dear sister of Norma Visalli.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Wednesday 9:00-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM. Interment, Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Williamstown.

In memory of Anna Mae Sabato, Darleen & Vince Parisi lit a candle

My condolences to the Sabato family. I grew up with this family. It almost feels like losing a 2nd mother. Living on School House Lane in the Birches section of Washington Township was different than the rest of the Birches. Our street was on the other side of the elementary school. It was almost as if we were insulated. Every family knew their neighbors by name and sight. This explains how I was able to trek from one end in the daylight to the other at 11:00 in darkness for seemingly 15+ years. My heart breaks for Kathy and her family, who took me in as one of their own day after day, week after week, year after year. As my family took her in as well. Just as you’ve said over the years Kathy, we’re family. I never did call her anything but Mrs. Sabato. Rest in peace Mrs. Sabato.
