Ann Marie Greco
(nee Cardano) On January 12, 2023 of Washington Twp. Age 93. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore. Devoted mother of Nancy Lucidonio (James) and Richard Greco (Kathryn). Loving grandmother of Jonathan, Christina, Jaclyn, Victoria, and Micaela. Proud great-grandmother of Chase, Landon, Knox, Ander, and Aria.
A native Philadelphian, Ann was a graduate of Hallahan High School, then worked at Westinghouse, before meeting her future husband Salvatore “Sam” Greco when she asked him for a stick of gum and he agreed for a dance. Once married, they settled in Folcroft, Pennsylvania where they raised two children, a son (Richard) and a daughter (Nancy). While raising a family, Ann continued to work, first at the Franklin Mint and later with the Southeast Delco School District. She was also an avid fan of Philadelphia sports, especially Phillies baseball. She would convince her friends to go with her to Connie Mack Stadium to watch the Phillies.
Family was the central essence of Ann’s life. She was proud and honored to be the wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt of our family. In her youth, she loved reading, puzzles, and coffee breaks with her best friends. In her adult years, she enjoyed bowling, playing the lottery, (especially the scratch offs) and casino-hopping with her family and friends. She continued to be an avid reader, solving Cryptograms and watching her favorite shows. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in recitals, plays and concerts. She also enjoyed “catching up” with extended family at holiday gatherings with good food, wine and laughter.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Salvatore ‘Sam’ Greco; her parents, Phillip and Christina (Santaliquita) Cardano; siblings sister Rita Cardano, brother James Cardano,(Rita), and sister Antonette ‘Toni’ (Cardano) (Louis)Dalo.
Ann will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, loving embrace and unconditional love. Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort that she is in heaven and watching over us.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 10:00 AM-12:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 12:00 PM. Interment, Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
