I am so sorry to hear about my wonderful friend from New Mexico State University passing away. I knew Andy and Karol and visited them in Columbia, Missouri and Glassboro. Andy was always kind and generous and he will be sorely missed.

A wonderful man and teacher. I not only counted him as my professor and mentor, but a friend. We traveled together one spring break down to the Everglades in my VW van. I hadn’t been in touch for quite a while and was shocked and saddened when I saw his remembrance in Rowan magazine
Frank Wagner left a message on November 7, 2023:
Karol and Family. I was saddened hearing of Andys passing. He was a scholar and a mentor to all. He took me under his wing when I started at Rowan and made fun to come to work. We had many lunches telling stories and sharing about our families. I especially will hold or times fishing or just hiking around campus and smile when I see a snake or a bug. The skills and his passion for science and family was infectious. These are just a few things I will miss about Andy. Sending hugs Frank, Juan and Gavin
MARITZA GARCIA left a message on October 31, 2023:
So so sorry for the whole family. Andy was a great guy and I know from early on when he used to baby sit his sister and myself. There was no mention of Andy as an uncle to Tara Kovaleski and Ryan Herr (already deceased), not to be forgotten. The person that comes most to mind in Andy’s father, Andres Prieto, he was always so proud of his son. All in all, he lived a good life; perhaps left a bit too soon.
