Edward J. Wurster, Sr., on March 1, 2020, of New Port Richey, FL., formerly of Glassboro. Beloved husband of the late Florence (nee Dyer). Loving father of Edward J. Wurster, Jr. (Elizabeth), Margaret J. Tosco (Roger), Florence H. Eli and Alfred F. Wurster (Patricia). Devoted grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 10. Dear brother of the late Albert Wurster, Mary Beckett, William Wurster and Rosalie Navarro. He will also be missed by his sister-in-law, Elaine Harkins and many loving nieces and nephews.
Ed met and fell in love with his wife Florence at Carmens Roller Skating Rink in Philadelphia Pa. They were married in 1945 and until her passing in 2019 they were together for over 74 years. He and Florence were avid Philadelphia Football Fans. He was a Season Ticket holder from the day the Veterans Stadium opened into the opening of the Linc. He was lucky enough to have his number come up for the pool to attend the 1981 Super Bowl Game in New Orleans which he did with his Sons Ed Jr and Al and his daughter Marge. But they lost ?.
He also cheered on the Phillies and the Flyers He also liked to Bowl and has a few trophies as proof of his talent. He was a great Family man and always took his family on a fun vacation every summer. Most times to Wildwood NJ. And also Niagara Falls. The Pride and Joy of his life was his 1957 Chevrolet Belair.
His wife Florence was his inseparable partner and he was her devoted care giver for the last six years of her life. He owned and operated a Merit Service Station at 27th and Ridge Ave in Philadelphia as well as 2 Arco Service Stations in the Olney section of Philadelphia. He was GREAT BUSINESS MAN AND FRIEND TO MANY. He will be missed by all.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Sunday 4:00 – 6:00 pm and Monday 9:00 – 10:00 am at John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Rd., Willow Grove, PA. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10:30 am, St. David RC Church, Willow Grove. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
